History

Master Custom Home Remodeling has been serving West Knoxville, Loudon County and Tellico Village, in East Tennessee, since 1998.

The company was founded by Dawn Steimer and her father, Chuck Steimer (now retired) and is “famed” for their outstanding remodeling services.

MCHR is a member of the West Knoxville/Farragut Chamber of Commerce, the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Home Builders, and is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.

2014

2009

  • Hallerin Hilton Hill becomes the official spokesperson for MCHR.
  • In a strategic alliance with Southern Kitchen, Dawn becomes an instructor at Kitchen & Bath University (KBU).
  • elephantDawn returns to Zimbabwe, Africa to support humanitarian efforts, orphans and small business development.
  • Troy Wilson leaves MCHR to join his wife, Wendy in their family business.

2008

  • Dawn’s nephew, Troy Wilson joins MCH&R after finishing term as a Raven in the US Air Force.
  • MCH&R builds first custom home in Tellico Village
  • Corporate name changed from Master Remodelers to Master Custom Homes & Remodeling
  • Lions Club Appreciation Award for Community Service

2002

  • Built Lenoir City Park Pavilion in cooperation with Lions Club of Tellico Village
  • Habitat for Humanity house in Knoxville

2000

  • Attend International Builder’s Show in Orlando, FL. (and in ’02, ’04, and ’06)
  • Chuck and Dawn begin to use subcontractors for much of their remodeling work.

1999

  • Chuck and Dawn receive a Contractor’s Limited License for remodeling.

1998

  • Dawn and family move to Tennessee from Rockford, IL to start Master Remodelers with Dawn’s father, Chuck Steimer.
