2009

• MCHR wins Business of the Year – Growth Award
• Hallerin Hilton Hill becomes official spokesperson for MCHR.
• In a strategic alliance with Southern Kitchen, Dawn becomes an instructor at Kitchen & Bath University (KBU).
• Dawn and her husband Jim return to Zimbabwe, Africa to support humanitarian efforts, orphans and small business development.
• Troy Wilson leaves MCHR to join his wife, Wendy in their family business.

2008

• Dawn becomes a regular guest host on Josh Blanchard’s Around the House radio show on WNOX, The Big Talker.
• Master Custom Homes & Remodeling celebrates 10 years in business
• MCH&R supports Saving Little Hearts Foundation
• Managing Partner Dawn Steimer Robison appointed Vice President on the Board of East Tennessee Foundation for Small Business and Entrepreneurship
• MCH&R joined the Knoxville Chapter of National Association of the Remodeling Industry as charter members
• MCH&R nominated for Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award

• MCH&R joins Farragut/West Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Family Business Institute of East Tennessee (FBIET) member
• MCH&R engages Small Business Association SCORE (Service Corp Of Retired Executives) business coach.
• Co-founder and CEO Chuck Steimer, retires
• MCH&R helps build Habitat for Humanity house in Loudon

2005

• MCH&R joins REO (Referral Exchange Organization). Dawn serves on leadership team

2004

• Dawn’s daughter, Kristina Yacks joins the MCH&R team

2003

• Dawn passes test to obtain General Contractor’s License
• Dawn’s nephew, Troy Wilson joins MCH&R after finishing term as a Raven in the US Air Force.
• MCH&R builds first custom home in Tellico Village
• Corporate name changed from Master Remodelers to Master Custom Homes & Remodeling
• Lions Club Appreciation Award for Community Service

2002

• Built Lenoir City Park Pavilion in cooperation with Lions Club of Tellico Village
  Habitat for Humanity house in Knoxville

2001

• MCH&R certified as regional Velux Skylight installers
• MCH&R joins B.N.I. (Business Network International)
• MCH&R sponsors Lions Club Gold Tournament

2000

• NAHB/HBAGK Classes: Business Administration, Aging-in-place, Best Practice for construction (above code construction)
• Attend International Builder’s Show in Orlando, FL. (and in ’02, ’04, and ’06)
• Professional education in Green Building, Design Build, Marketplace Building, Age-in-Place, 50+ housing, International residential code
• Chuck and Dawn begin to use subcontractors for much of their remodeling work

1999

• Chuck and Dawn receive Contractor’s Limited License for remodeling

1998

• Dawn and family move to TN from Rockford, IL to start Master Remodelers with Dawn’s father, Chuck Steimer
